Описание к видео Virtua Fighter Remix - Sega Saturn - Intro & Arcade playthrough as Akira (Real Hardware Capture)

Full gameplay, longplay, playthrough, walkthrough, guide and trueplay of Arcade mode from the Sega Saturn version of Virtua Fighter Remix as Akira. After the original port of VF1 misfired, SEGA rushed out an updated graphics version to try regain ground. Sadly remixed didn't offer anything new other than improved graphics and in Europe SEGA decided to stick with the original version rather than release remix on launch.

The original Virtua Fighter is best remember as the game that took the fighting genre into 3D. While it lacked the flair of Street Fighter II and wasn't as popular. It was a major hit in arcade on release, with the impressive 3D models battling it out, which was a revolution at the time. The look of the characters and the gameplay had a very polished feel and the first time you saw it in the arcade you stopped to watch. Remix did also get an ST-V arcade version, but this was extreme uncommon to see in arcades, largely due to the the fact it released after the Model 2 arcade release of Virtua Fighter 2. So there was little reason to carry it over the vastly superior sequel.

One area the original game falls down in is the balancing and you can see this in the video. As Akira may be our editor's favourite character is very poorly balanced in the first game and is one of the weaker characters. Characters like Kage, Lau, Pai and Wolf are very better and more powerful, this can even be seen with Akira A.I. who you can just block and counter punch. Hi lack of hi, low combos or escape combos, mean most attacks leave his open to counter. On the plus side his damage scaling can be a bit crazy with his back charge able to do 80% damage in one hit on the right counter frames. This is likely explain by the fact he was the last character added into the game, but beating Dural as him is very tricky compared to other characters. Hence why riven didn't win in the video,

Remix is a huge improvement over the original version in terms of graphics, one minor flaw is the floor lights no longer changes colour in Sarah's stage, the white ones only dim a little and the red ones no longer flash on and off. Also you can no longer knock off the hat of Pai or Kage's bandana, both seems fixed to the model in this version.
