How Do You Wear a Pocket Watch? Where does the watch chain go?

Описание к видео How Do You Wear a Pocket Watch? Where does the watch chain go?

Whether you are wearing the kilt or not, a pocket watch is a classic accessory.

Some may find it archaic and unnecessary in the age of smart watches and mobile phones. And yet many gents still choose to wear one. Perhaps it is the sense of composure and cool control that comes from leisurely checking the time on a pocket watch. It is a fact that you tend to remember the time better when you take the time to look at your watch as opposed to compulsively and absentmindedly checking a wristwatch every few minutes!

Or maybe there's something to the ritual of winding your watch in the morning and putting it on? Of course this accessory certainly gives one a feeling of connection to the past. Many men collect pocket watches and cherish ones they have inherited.

The bottom line fashion-wise is that a pocket watch looks dignified. It symbolizes control, dignity and gentlemanliness, just as it did when the timepiece was first invented and was a true luxury.

In this video, Erik lays out the basic rules for wearing a pocket watch. It's actually quite simple. But as always with fashion "The devil's in the details." And there is room for personal style.
