The term, rasa meaning "aesthetic" and Lila meaning "act", "play" or "dance" is a concept of Hinduism, for which roughly translates as "playing (Lila) in aesthetics (rasa), or more broadly as "Divine Dance of Love".

The Ras Lila dance (IAST rāsa-līlā) (Hindi: रास लीला) or Ras is a part of the traditional history of Krishna. In the Vaishnavism tradition of Manipur, Rasa Lila is represented in the Indian classical dance Manipuri, and revolves love story between Krishna and the cowherd girls and tells the divine love story of Krishna, svayam Bhagavan and Radha, his divine beloved.

In the Bhagavata Purana, it is said that whoever hears or describes Rasa Lila faithfully attains pure loving devotion to Krishna (Suddha-bhakti).

At the end of the first Rasa Lila, tradition dictates that the Lord himself appears and gives the actors his own crown, and decrees that each time a qualified actor must take the part of the Lord.

At present, many people have changed traditional music to popular music.
