Government House hosted its inaugural Yoga on the Lawn event on 11 June 2024, a resounding success that saw members of the public of all experience levels attend.
The free yoga session on the stunning front lawns of the Fernberg Estate helped fulfil the Governor’s pledge, made at her swearing-in, to promote a healthy and active state – and to open the estate to more Queenslanders.
Co-hosted by Her Excellency’s patronage organisation Health and Wellbeing Queensland and led by non-profit The Yoga Partnership, the event aimed to make yoga's benefits – physical, mental, and social – more accessible to everyone.
From enthusiastic beginners to seasoned yogis, those attending embraced the opportunity to connect with their bodies and the beautiful surroundings.
