VICTOBER TBR 🕯 VICTORIAN LIT To Be Read in OCTOBER

Victober is a month-long readathon hosted each October with the goal of encouraging us all to pick up a piece (or more!) of Victorian literature.

I realize that GK Chesterton is a stretch for a Victorian writer BUT I think he was technically published in 1901. Plus I recently read that he was the first President of the Detection Club and that every meeting began with a procession including a 💀 lit-up skull named Eric and 🕯 lighted candles and murder weapons as props (think 🔪daggers and 🫙 vials of poison). These factors alone have encouraged me to be free in my inclusion of him in Victober.
