Paging transmitter transmits a numeric message - a single digit 0 through 9. The receiver (pager) display indicates the digit. Write down the number. Send the next digit, which is displayed, the person with the receiver writes down all the numeric messages and then uses either s one-time pad to decode the message or a substitution cipher. No limit to the number of digits that can be sent...simply a question of time. In the demonstration video, I used the digit 0 to indicate the end of each 5-digit message group. This is similar to how spy numbers stations on shortwave radio work.

If a one time pad cryptosystem is used correctly, it is completely unbreakable. In this demo, the transmissions are one-way. However, two-way communications using this method would be easy to implement.

Depending on the encryption method used, for example, a simpler cipher would be a 2 digit or 3 digit message group to indicate one of the letters of the alphabet or a series of pre-determined messages.


With an outdoor antenna mounted at high elevation (20 feet above the structure it's mounted on or 60 feet above the ground) a range of 30km to 50km could be realized.
