Papule(acne) is a very common skin condition. It affects many people across ages, genders, and regions.

A papule is a small red bump. Papules don’t have a yellow or white center of pus. When a papule does accumulate pus, it becomes a pustule.

Most papules become pustules. This process commonly takes a few days.
The primary causes of papules, and acne in general, include:

bacteria
excess oil production
excess activity of androgens (male sex hormones)

My doctor recommended starting with benzoyl peroxide and told me to return after a few weeks if it was not effective after a few weeks. I had to return for extractions and treatment.

My dermatologist placed me on some retinoids and they are all dried up jut the scarring still remains.
