Synthesizer demo of the ENSONIQ SQ-80 from 1987.
The intro sequence was produced with the sequencer of the SQ-80 playing sounds from the AnalogAudio1 patch bank. In this movie I play my own sounds - on some sounds I used a small amount of reverb from a Dynacord DRP 20. I also used a Korg SDD-3000 for delay effects from 1:32 to 1:46 (right channel only). But no other effects like compression or chorus were used.

The ENSONIQ SQ-80 is an upgraded, enhanced version of the popular ESQ-1 from 1986. You may say, it's an ESQ-1 on steroids. It has more waveforms, a floppy disc drive, more sequencer memory, a phones jack, a lighter casing and other improvements. It still has the same great analog lowpass filters, which sound great when overdriven (like heard in the video). The SQ-80 is a flexible synth. It has 3 oscillators, 4 envelopes, 4 DCAs and 3 LFO's per voice. OSC sync and amplitude modulation possible - like on analog synthesizers. It has a velocity sensitive keyboard and polyphonic aftertouch. Built in pattern sequencer (similar to the one in the Akai MPCs).
