Walking Horse Railroad | The Shortest Shortline In Tennessee

Описание к видео Walking Horse Railroad | The Shortest Shortline In Tennessee

On December 29th, 2023, a friend of mine and I set out to see the 7.76 mile long shortline known as the Walking Horse Railroad. (formerly known as the Walking Horse & Eastern) The line operates from Wartrace, TN (where it interchanges with CSX) to Shelbyville, TN where they're based out of. Today's video takes us to the "bypass." (as the crews call it since a small section of track was bypassed to make room for a highway, so a bridge was builtto go over this new highway) There, they do several switching movements since they dont have a run-around track to do so. After doing that switching, they run over to Gold RIver Feed Products where they switch out the customer. After that they make their way to Wartrace. If you notice how the last clip ends abruptly and how out of place it seems for an ending, thats because there was supposed to be more and we did set up at the next spot. However, my friend lost his phone at the last shot's location and we had to go back and look for it. (we did find it btw)

Edit: It appears i might be wrong about the WHRR being the shortest shortline, the ECBT based out of Chattanooga, TN is 4 miles long, however it is a independent shortline while the WHRR's owner has multiple other lines. So take it how you'd like, the Walking Horse is ONE of the shortest shortlines in Tennessee
