Buying an RV for the First Time | Outdoors RV 21RBS Travel Trailer

In this video, we share our experience of buying our first RV and the research process that went into it. After 2 years of research, we bought Outdoors RV 21RBS.

We were looking for a travel trailer that could get us off grid and boondocking (dry camping in the boonies without any water, electric or sewer hookups) and was small enough to get us in most National Parks.

We came across an ebook called Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel Comparison Guide by Randall Eaton published by https://rvreviews.net, which is a comprehensive rating guide for each manufacturer. To determine what size trailer is for us, we rented three different RVs: 1) 27ft travel trailer 2) T@B teardrop trailer 3) 16ft Airstream Bambi. We used both https://www.outdoorsy.com/ and rvshare.com to rent RVs from private owners. (Like AirBnB but for RVs).

We had heard that the pre-purchase inspection is a very important step and quite often can uncover issues. It is a must when buying a used RV, but it really doesn't hurt to do your diligence when buying a new one. Since we couldn't get in a professional inspector, instead we purchased the Pre-Purchase Checklist ebook, printed it out, and went through it during the inspection. It was well worth it!
