Dilly Beans! A great way to preserve green beans!
When you have tons of green beans, dilly beans are another great option for using them. In this video I go through the steps to make one of our favorites, “Dilly Beans”.
Follow along to see how it’s done!
Note that whenever working with food, especially when you are canning things, be very careful to keep all equipment and work areas clean to prevent problems with bacteria or spoilage. You’ll also be working with boiling water, so exercise caution and have all the right protection in place.

Ingredients per pint jar:
Approx ½ lb. of mature green beans
1 large garlic clove cut in two
¼ to ½ tsp red pepper flakes (to taste)
¼ to ½ tsp mustard seeds (to taste)
1 sprig of fresh dill

Canning liquid (brine) per 5 pints:

¼ cup Canning Salt
2 ½ cups water
2 ½ cups white vinegar

Supplies and Equipment:

1-pint standard lid canning jars
Jar lids and rings – standard size
Hot bath canning kettle for pint jars
Jar lifter
Towels, hot pads, lid gripper, paper towels
Jar filler funnel
