Slide Lesson One: Derek Trucks, Ry Cooder, Blake Mills Right Hand Technique

I got a request to do some lessons on my right hand technique for slide guitar. My approach has primarily derived from listening to and watching Ry Cooder and Derek Trucks. Another hero of mine, Blake Mills, has developed a beautiful slide style that seems to have also been influenced by Trucks and Cooder.

I am relatively new to slide guitar and I by no means consider myself any kind of authority but I thought these videos might help others! If you like these players, check out some of their influences: Blind Willie Johnson, Son House, Elmore James, Duane Allman, Joseph Spence etc.
