PMI’s Most Influential Projects of 2024 – John mentions that PMI has released a list of transformative projects that contribute to the United Nations' sustainability and development goals. Examples include 3D kidney printing, biodegradable seaweed-based packaging, and efforts to reduce dengue fever using mosquito-borne virus control.

AI Integration in Project Management – There is a strong focus on AI, with 25 sessions related to AI, particularly generative AI like ChatGPT. PMI launched their "Infinity Co-Pilot," an AI tool built on ChatGPT, specifically trained to assist project managers with PMI’s Body of Knowledge and other resources.

Redefining Project Success – PMI has redefined project success as delivering value that justifies the effort and expense, moving beyond traditional measures like time, cost, and quality. This new focus shifts from simply managing projects to considering stakeholder perspectives and the value the project brings.

Governance and Risk Management in a Technological Age – PMI emphasizes the importance of adaptable governance models that consider cybersecurity, data privacy, and system operability, particularly in tech-driven and distributed organizations.
