Keeps ants out
This works well for my cat's dry food, even fits the 12lb bag perfectly and keeps the food fresh and the ants out which is greatly needed, my house has a really bad ant problem and I have had to throw away a couple bags in the past after they were overrun with the critters. It also makes filling her bowl easier I just pop the lid open, scoop the food and close it up. Pouring out of an open bag is much louder and often results in spills or cat food dust on everything.
