On Bhadrapad Shukla Dashami, Veer Tejaji was born in the house of Tahar Ji. Tahar Ji was a distinguished warrior of the Kachwaha clan, and his mother, Ramkunwari, was a devout woman. Tejaji's real name was "Tejaraj," but people lovingly called him "Tejaji." From a young age, Tejaji was brave and courageous. It is said that when he was very young, he displayed his courage and intelligence. Once, when his village was attacked, Tejaji drove away the attackers with his exceptional bravery. After this incident, he became renowned in the village as a brave warrior.
Tejaji was married in his childhood to a girl named Pemal from Paner village. When he grew up, Pemal's brothers sent a message to Tejaji, asking him to come to Paner. Tejaji's uncle, Ajyal Ji, and his wife, Lacha, tried to prevent Tejaji from going to Paner due to some family dispute between them.
One day, when Tejaji was plowing the field, his sister-in-law arrived late with his meal. Tejaji asked her why she was so late. In response, she said, "Your wife is enjoying herself at her parents' home while I am here, overwhelmed with work." Tejaji was deeply hurt by this. Without eating, he mounted his horse and set off towards his in-laws' home after asking for directions.
When Tejaji arrived at his in-laws' place, his mother-in-law was milking the cows. Upon hearing the sound of Tejaji's horse's (Leelan's) hooves, the cows got startled and stopped giving milk. His mother-in-law, upset, remarked, "Who is this snake-born person who startled the cows?" Tejaji felt deeply offended by this comment. Without saying anything, he immediately decided to leave.
When his in-laws realized what had happened, they tried hard to stop him, but Tejaji refused to stay. His wife managed to convince him to stay for just one night, but Tejaji insisted that he would not stay at his in-laws' home. Instead, he spent the night at the home of a woman named Lacha, who was a Gujari (a milkmaid).
