Sending a voice message on Telegram is quick and easy, whether you're using an Android or iOS device. This video walks you through the steps, including how to troubleshoot if the microphone icon isn’t visible or if voice messages aren’t being delivered.

To get started, open the Telegram app and go to the chat where you want to send the voice message. Make sure the recipient has not restricted voice messages in their privacy settings—this is more common with Telegram Premium users who can limit who contacts them or sends certain types of messages.

Once you're in the chat, locate the microphone icon in the message input area. To record a voice message, press and hold the mic icon. Speak while holding it, and once you’re done, simply release to send. If you change your mind mid-recording, swipe left to cancel—it will immediately discard the message.
