I love modifying my “cheap” guns into much more sophisticated and useful custom guns.
This Crosman 2240 was £90 when I bought it new but it has now been very heavily modified and is a full 12fpe compact rifle.
Only thing that ever let it down was the fiddly loading of the pellets into the single shot breech, I’ve looked at different options to make it a multi shot but they all involved changing the breech and then using fiddly to load magazines.
This GRAVmag seemed to good to be true at such a low cost and also did not need any other modifications to the gun (I did have to refit my standard pellet probe as I had a longer custom probe fitted), it just slides onto scope rail and is tightened into place with a single Allen bolt, this only takes a few seconds and can be removed just as easily, there is a version available to fit the standard plastic breech as well.
It came with 2 different pellet tubes to fit nearly every type of pellet on the market, Allen key and some useful little red washers that you can put under the annoying breech screw that catches and tips the pellets, I needed to fit 2 washers under the head of the screw to make it flush with the breech.
One magazine tube is marked CR and that is suitable for the shorter pellets but I used the other pellet tube as this fits far more of the common pellets that most people use.
I use JSB Jumbo 15.89 in my 2240 and they feed perfectly, I tried lots of other pellets and all seem to work really well and I had zero problems.
It is really easy to just drop the pellets in and you can reload at any point and don’t have to empty magazine first, I went for the compact version which holds 5 pellets or 6 if you load 1 in breech first, there is a longer version that can hold 9 pellets.
It feeds really nice and smooth and does not damage the pellets in any way unlike some other magazine systems.
I have bought other 3D printed accessories from eBay that have been a massive disappointment and total waste of money but this is proper engineered and worth every Penny of its very reasonable cost of £27.50 including postage.
