Nick and Tadpole are surrounded by corpses in the Undead Settlement. These are the poor fools that we slaughtered to end the last episode. Nick shows a fun parlor trick and we head out on our way to the Dilapidated Bridge.

Not far from downtown we find a building with a hole in the floor. Not a unique trait, but this particular one leads to a locked room containing the talisman for the Warrior of the Sunlight covenant. This room also exposes us to our first taste of Estus Soup. Delicious!

We pop out in a narrow backstreet that funnels out to the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire. A fat evangelist monitors the area, sniping all the trespassers that try to mosey on through. Around the corner is a crystal lizard with a sharp gem. Below that is the sweet salvation that is a bonfire. We're saved! Time for a quick visit to Firelink Shrine.

The passageway past the Dilapidated Bridge leads to a treacherous gauntlet of massive spears. Later (in the next episode) we find out that a giant is throwing the projectiles. The spears hurt friend and foe alike so we do our best to use them to our advantage. Many good items here to collect if you are fast enough. Maybe it's best to come back later.

After dodging all the giant spears we stumble into a boss room. The Curse-rotted Greatwood is a humongous, humanoid tree that is almost complete invulnerable to attacks. It has but a few week points that explode in a burst of sticky juice when attacked. The tree fight will be concluded in another episode.
