1. Singapore has military mandatory service: during World War Two, Singapore was occupied by the Japanese, which did not turn out well for Singapore. After World War Two was over, Singapore's leaders decided that they did actually need a way to defend themselves.

2. Mongolian people are really cool (I never met someone from Mongolia!)
