The Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) has released results for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and Ordinary Level (O’Level) for candidates who did national examinations for the academic year 2021-2022.

From the results released on Tuesday, September 27, out of 227,402 pupils who sat for national examinations, 206,286 candidates passed, which represents 90.6 per cent of the general passing rate.

This year’s passing rate for PLE is higher than that of the last three years.

For instance, in 2021 the passing rate was 82.8 per cent and in 2018 the passing rate was 81.1 percent, and 81.6 percent in 2019.

Results for O’ Level indicate that among the 126,735 candidates who sat for national exams, 108,566 passed which represents 85.66 percent. However, numbers have slightly decreased compared to last year’s results.

Last year’s pass rate was at 86.3 per cent.
