Bakreswar Temple is one of the 51 Shakti-Peethas in India, it is believed to be the spot where the forehead and eyebrows of Goddess Sati fell. This is a major pilgrimage spot for Hindus.

This region is known particularly for its scenic beauty. There are seven hot springs surrounding the region- Agni Kund, Brahma Kund, Surya Kund, Saubhagya Kund, Amrita Kund, Kheer Kund, Jibat Kund and Vairav Kund, and each is associated with a ShivLinga.

बकरेश्वर में स्थित महिषमर्दिनी शक्तिपीठ भारत के 51 शक्तिपीठों में से एक है। यह मंदिर पारा नदी के तट पर रमणीय वातावरण में स्थित है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि सती माता की भौहें इसी स्थान पर गिरी थीं। माता सती को महिषमर्दिनी के रूप में पूजा जाता है।
