Sainthood, Silage, Shearing, and a Wedding: Our Bank Holiday Highlights

Join us on an action-packed bank holiday weekend filled with family fun, a wedding, an intense shearing contest, and the hard work of silage making. From spreading fertilizer with our trusty local contractor to prepping fields and fixing old machinery, this video captures the essence of farming life and the joyous moments in between.

We start the weekend by spreading fertilizer on our silage field with the help of a local contractor, followed by fixing our old Niemeyer tedder. As the weather forecast changes, we make the bold decision to mow the field and start the silage making process. Watch as we use our 1967 Massey Ferguson 135 tractor and a vintage Lely 300 tedder to prepare the grass for baling.

Amidst all the farming activities, we take a break to attend a lovely wedding, enjoy a family picnic, at ShearFest 2024. Experience the excitement of the shearing contest and the fun moments with our kids at the event.

Back on the farm, we wrap up the weekend by baling 37 high-quality silage bales, ready for the winter months. This video offers a glimpse into the busy and fulfilling life on a sheep farm, highlighting the balance between hard work and family time.
