After helping the single handing boaters in the last vlog, S2Ep11- Boating Deeds - NARROWBOAT CRUISING JOURNAL Pollington to Whitley Lock - Aire & Calder Canal -    • S2Ep11- Boating Deeds - NARROWBOAT CRUISIN...   we set off to continue our Narrowboat Journey to Kings Road Lock.

We catch up and overtake the single handed narrowboater and even manage a more surprisingly “Ketchup”, sorry old joke – do you know it? but needless to say it wasn’t tomatoes. I (Louise) fear my mind is taking me off on a tangent back to boating on the Aire and Calder Navigation. Pleasantly surprised to catch up others.

Locking through Ferrybridge Flood Lock we enter the breath-taking river Aire. This river holds just that certain sweet spot. Boating past Brotherton village and the historical St Edward the Confessor Church. And yet just round the corner is an historical leap forward to what once was yesterday’s industry but I have susceptions it will become riverside housing, future lucky ducks. But today it’s a nod to the industry that used to stand there as it towers over our tiny canalboat.

Cruising the Cut now as full-time liveaboards. Breath in, the sense of freedom and enjoy as you step aboard. This is our 2021 boating season, we hope you'll come along for the ride, we are keen to become continuous cruisers. Cruising somewhere - A journey never-ending
