The York Motor Museum is a community-owned motor vehicle museum located right on Avon Terrace in historic York. It’s widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest collections of vintage, classic, and racing vehicles and has been a major drawcard for visitors since it opened in 1979, making it one of the oldest private motor museums in the country. The museum was founded by local motoring enthusiasts Peter Briggs and James Harwood and officially opened in December 1979.
