Before you read further and try to do a new installation prepare your machine for my recipe to work:
1. Aside from the tarball remove every single remainder from your previous attempts!
2. Delete the extracted directory tree!
3. Delete ~/.eclipse completely, do this for root also, if applicable.
4. Delete ~/.p2 completely, do this for root also, if applicable.
This video is for those who experience problems installing Eclipse on (K)Ubuntu OS (may apply for other environments also).
For example: "The Eclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library."
Or you encounter problems getting the pre-installed Hello World example program to build and run properly.
Or you can't run build due to problems locating the C/C++ header files.
And so on...
All of these can be easily overcome when you use this recipe!
