0:00 Intro
If you’re following the big landscape photographers you’ve certainly came across photos where this method was used. Using focal length blending / perspective blending will help to make interesting objects in the foreground bigger and thus draw some more attention it. This way we can nicely balance the image around for- and background. To achieve this, we will need a base image with our main subject and a second image for the foreground.

For this photo the goal was to get some warmer colors, especially in the sky and overall add a dreamy, soft look. Plus, since the flowers in the foreground in the first shot were rather small, I used a second shot (closer to the flowers) to blend them together and thus get a better balance between the subject in the back and the foreground.

0:26 1. Raw Adjustments
I started by changing the profile to Adobe Landscape for more saturation, then I adjusted the white balance to get some warmer colors. I dropped the highlights to restore details in the sky, then dropped the shadows. For the soft look, I raised the blacks.

Using a sky selection mask I made the top right part of the photo a little darker. Then, I added a radial gradient on the left to add glow by increasing the blacks and decreasing the dehaze. To add some more warmth, I increased the white balance temperature.

In the HSL Panel, I added saturation to orange, yellow and blue, while dropping the green saturation. For the split toning, I used a warm, very saturated color for the highlights.

6:28 3. Focal Length Blending
I started by merging the two images using the clone stamp tool. Once I painted in the flowers in the foreground (with the clone stamp tool on a new layer) I adjusted the position to try and align it better with the original foreground. Then, I adjusted the size a bit with the transform controls (scaled It down vertically) and masked out the edged to nicely blend both shots.

9:15 4. Finishing Touches
Finally, I added some more glow using a soft light layer and the brush tool. Then, I dodged the flowers in the foreground making them brighter. For the last step, I added a few nik collection filters to make the colors a little stronger.
