In full video    • How a 5 bedroom detached house & 3 electri...   I visit a friend's house where he's installed an air source heat pump, solar panels and a V2H charger.
The Indra V2H (vehicle to home) charger is connected to a Nissan E-NV200 electric van and using the 40kWh battery as a home storage battery. The vehicle charges each night on cheap rate electricity using the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, which costs 7p per kWh. Then the house is run during the day from the solar panels and the energy store in the vehicle battery. Any excess solar is sold back to the grid at 15p per kWh as is any excess energy stored in the vehicle's battery, so it is then ready to be fully charged again at night on the cheap rate.
The Indra V2H charger provides DC power via the Chademo port in the Nissan and obviously has a DC-AC converter to provide the energy back into the house and export to the grid at peak times.
