The Karnataka government has proposed a 15% internal reservation (SC) within the overall SC quota for government jobs. Out of 56,000 upcoming recruitments, the internal division of seats will ensure representation for left-handed, right-handed, and physically challenged communities.
Minister K H Muniyappa emphasized the importance of fair allocation within this 15% reservation. The government has decided to set up a committee to finalize the internal distribution, which will later be submitted to the cabinet. Once approved, this will be implemented ahead of the recruitment process to ensure transparency and equitable representation.
This internal reservation plan aims to address the specific needs of underrepresented sections within the Scheduled Castes, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunity in state government jobs. The discussion also included inputs on sharing the quota among different sub-groups like left-handed, right-handed, physically challenged, and wandering communities.
