Welcome to the powerhouse that is Kupe, leader of the Maori Empire in Civilization VI and one of the most interesting and unique leaders in civ 6. The Maori start in the oceans, and they aren't afraid to use them! In this video I discuss how Kupe's Mana and unique leader abilities and biases make him one of the most fascinating civs to play. We'll cover starting strategies, unique units and improvements like the marae, the pa, and others, and the way Kupe values kaitiakitanga and the nature world. This incentivises players to go for a cultural/ tourism victory (supported by faith) to shape a strong empire. Kupe's buffed fishing boats offer a nice food bonus and cultural bomb surrounding tiles too! His unimproved woods, forests and other passable natural features provide nice production and culture too. #civ6 #NewFrontierPass #CivilizationVI
