Nearly four weeks have gone by and we've made some slight revisions to the layout in the 19th Century house. Most notably you will see the O-gauge running around, a MTH Railking SD45 in Santa Fe paint pulling some of the fleet of Weaver 2 and 3 bay hoppers. In the bedroom the siding has finally been built underneath the bed as well. There is a brief moment during the second lap where the train pauses: big trains, rough transitions between the different flooring in the house make derailments very probable. Here's a situation where it was caught very early.
As neat as this layout was it was short lived, and this video was taken months before it was deconstructed. Nothing is permanent in life or on the railroad, and a furlough at work resulted in me moving to another crew base, and finding another house to rent. A true shame, we never got to enjoy the big empty attic in the warmer summer months... but then again maybe that was for the best, who knows if the world would have been ready for a three story helix???
