We again visited Simon Keegan in Manchester, who is the grandmaster of Keegan Bata, a school for Irish Stick Fighting & self defense. In an 3 hour long seminar, he went through all the basics of handling the Shillelagh, empty hand close quarter combat, striking and blocking with the Irish Stick. In between he gave a deep insight into the historical background of Irish Stick Fighting and its origin.

Keegan Bata, the fighting style of his family, originated in Ireland in the 1600s and was used on the battlefield by his ancestors. It was taught to him when he was a child by his father for self-defense.
