We stimulate the pericrdium meridian, which is the hand Jue yin.
Later we use the Iyengar imagery I learned from Zoe Stewart, to access the pericardium.
The pericardium is the heart protector in Chinese medicine. Sometimes it is over-protecting, not allowing the heart to open and shine like the sun shines, generously, in all directions and on everyone. Our heart needs to be generous and open. Relaxing the pericardium and allowing this channel to flow helps the heart. A healthy pericardium ensures that the heart gets just the right level of protection.


The pericardium meridian originates from the middle of the chest and enters the pericardium, it descends through the diaphragm. A second branch of the meridian from the center of the chest emerges to the surface lateral to the nipple, curves around the armpit continues on the medial aspect of the upper arm. It runs further down the forearm through the middle of the palm of the hand to the tip of the middle finger.
