Eddie Murphy and Nicole Mitchell were married for thirteen years, and share five adult children. In June of 2022, the ex-spouses came together for the wedding of their oldest daughter, Bria, who married actor Michael Xavier in a lavish, but intimate ceremony in Beverly Hills. Eddie walked Bria down the aisle, and during the reception, the father-daughter duo danced to Stevie Wonders classic: "Isn't she lovely."

When it came time to toss the bouquet, Martin Lawrence's daughter Jasmin, who has been dating Eddie's son Eric since 2021, caught the flowers, and after the pair became engaged months later, Martin’s response to the news was: “I’m going to try to get Eddie to chip in on this wedding,” to which Eddie jokingly replied: “that’s not how it works.”

Eric Murphy proposed to Jasmine Lawrence over Thanksgiving weekend in 2024, and the couple quietly tied the knot in a small, intimate ceremony—opting to forgo the lavish wedding plans that had been in the works."
