Introducing a tutorial that I had promised to create and has been a long time coming.

Well, It is finally here.

Modeling a low to mid poly character is a great way to showcase your creativity, and also save a lot of time in the modeling and texturing process.

Come to think of it, you also save a lot of system resources during rendering.... :)

This tutorial series will cover:

1) Understanding the Core Face Loops - this is a crucial concept to grasp if you want to create models which will give natural movements during animation.

2) Modeling a head - as you go through the process of modeling the head in this tutorial, you will learn some of the secrets that allow me to create amazing faces and heads for all my characters.

3) Modeling the body - it is great to use vertices where necessary. There is no need to add a gazillion vertices where a few will work. This step shows how I model the body based on the requirements of the character... each character is modelled differently.

4) Material-based UV unwrapping - Thanks to my experience with Adobe Substance Painter, I now find it easy to assign material IDs first and then unwrap my character based on these IDs.

5) Texturing - here I go through some addons that are great for texturing, and you will learn how easy it is to assign textures, thanks to the material - based unwrapping done in the step above.

So grab a cup of Java or your favorite beverage, and get set to take a new look at how to model a human, or dare I say, humanoid character.
