Cloud starts to push in from the west but skies remain clear and sunny in the early afternoon across much of Scotland, northern and central England. By late afternoon the cloud has thickened, winds have picked up and a band of rain and hill snow moves over Northern Ireland and across the rest of the UK through the evening and overnight.
