Location and Borders:
Kuwait is a tiny country situated in the Middle East and Asia.
It shares borders with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran.
The country lies at the northern edge of Eastern Arabia, at the tip of the Persian Gulf.

Historical Significance:
Evidence of the first settlement in Kuwait dates back to 4500 BC1.
Ancient Greece once colonised the Kuwaiti island of Failaki (then named Ikaros) between 2000 and 1000 BC. It served as an important trading post on the route from Mesopotamia to India.
During the 1600s, Kuwait became part of the Ottoman Empire, and settlers transformed the site of present-day Kuwait City into a trading hub during the 1800s.
In 1899, Kuwait became a British protectorate, with Britain providing naval protection in exchange for control over its foreign affairs.
In 1961, Kuwait gained complete independence as the British protectorate was formally withdrawn
