Скачать или смотреть Strange Tree Wrapped Around Another Tree in a Spiral

I had noticed this tree years ago and it never ceases to amaze and baffle me; it’s truly bizarre as it spirals around the birch all the way up to the top. Forgive me because I don’t know what kind of tree, (or perhaps plant), the spiraling one is but the one it wraps around is a birch it that helps. Figured it’s time to show the world and maybe figure out what might be happening here. In all of my experience walking in the North Woods I have never seen anything like this. I know there are some parasites to trees but the ones I have seen are generally in large clumps that look like nests. Not sure what would have caused this, perhaps someone can shed some light on this! This is in Northern Minnesota.

Perhaps an arborist or some sort of biologist can explain what’s going on here?
