What is a sannyasi? Krishna gives this perfect explanation…

In this video, I’ll share Krishna’s own definition of sannyasa, so you too can properly understand who or what is a sannyasi.

yaṁ sannyāsam iti prāhur
yogaṁ taṁ viddhi pāṇḍava
na hy asaṁnyastasaṁkalpo
yogī bhavati kaś cana

What is called sannyasa ‘casting off all selfish desire for the results of action within matter’ is exactly the same state of being as is practiced in yoga. Without taking a vow to give up all attachment to the results of material actions within matter, one cannot be a yogi.
