New Delhi: Contrary to expectations, the date for polling for the Chengannur bypoll was not announced by the Election Commission at the news conference held on Tuesday, when the date for Karnataka Assembly elections was announced. The Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat said that the date for bypolls would be announced separately, as usual.
