In October 2023, the State Board of Education was granted the authority under Ohio law to enroll non-licensed individuals in Rapback including school bus drivers, employees, and contractors. This expansion of Rapback will allow the State Board to send timely notifications to districts and schools related to criminal activity of their non-licensed staff. The State Board team is working with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification and the Department of Education and Workforce to modify the State Board's current systems to allow districts and schools to request enrollment of non-licensed individuals who are employed or contracted by their district or school.
