The Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar is designed and optimized to work with Dolby Atmos and create an immersive 9.1.4 spatial audio experience. Sonos achieves this by integrating a total of 14 acoustically-tuned speaker drivers. Starting from the middle there are two mid-bass woofers and a silk-dome tweeter for the centre channel to deliver vocals and dialogues. Then there are the left and right channels with 2 mid-bass woofers and precisely-angled silk-dome tweeters for a wide stereo field. These are flanked by two additional woofers on the side panels and two additional upward-firing drivers for an immersive 3D surround sound with Dolby Atmos. Then Sonos takes it to the next-level by engineering their trademarked Sound Motion™ woofers in an all-new acoustically-architectured enclosure. This delivers exceptional bass from a flat and compact design. All the transducers are driven by 15 efficient Class-D digital amplifiers.
The Sonos Arc Ultra ships with support for both Amazon’s Alexa & Google Assistant. This is backed with a far-field microphone array that uses advanced beamforming and multi-channel echo cancellation for easy and responsive voice activation. The microphones also work in tandem with Sonos’s Trueplay™ technology that dynamically tunes the speaker to the unique acoustics of the room.
For wired connectivity, there is a HDMI port with eARC support. For wireless streaming, the ARC ultra soundbar has the Bluetooth 5.3, the Sonos app and Apple AirPlay 2. The app lets you set up the system and access features such as EQ settings, Speech Enhancement for added vocal clarity and Night Sound mode that reduces the intensity of loud sound effects.
