NBC College Football (Bowl) Theme 1985-1989

This was NBC's New Year's Bowl Theme. This theme was used from the 1986-1989 Bowl seasons. It was composed by Clark Gault who composed most of NBC Sports themes throughout the 80s. This is simply a marching band sounding version of NBC's NFL Pregame theme similar to Fox's current College Football theme. This to me was the premier New Year's Day Bowl theme. NBC really lucked out during this theme's run as they televised a National Championship implicating game every year. I targeted all of the New Year's Day games although NBC did televise the (December) 1985 Citrus Bowl with this theme and NBC also televised the 1988 and 1989 Hall of Fame (now Outback) Bowl with this theme. This theme and it's sister NFL theme would be discontinued after January 1989 as NBC Sports changed their image, graphics, and theme music beginning with Super Bowl XXIII.
