Makita Cordless Metal Saw - Repair - Full Teardown and Rebuild -Model DCS550

Woah! Modern tools? What the hell?!? Don't worry, it's not going to become a staple for the channel, but if I see a cordless makita tool I want going cheap for spares I'm going to grab it!

I'm currently trying to improve my selection of woodworking power tools so when I saw this for £10 untested I jumped on it. I bought this from a guy who works on skip wagons, he'd seen it in the top of a skip he was collecting, grabbed it and flogged it. Didn't have a battery so it was sold as untested.

Wasn't too bad to repair, as soon as I tested it I had an idea it would need an armature, that smell is unmistakable if you know it! Still, managed to get an armature for £21 posted, another £8 on new brushes and a holder, and I've now got a half decent saw for under £40! As of typing, the cheapest second hand Makita cordless saw on ebay is £70 so I'm well in pocket :)
