SINGING BOWL DEMONSTRATION: KATHMANDU, NEPAL (4K)

During my tour of the Monkey Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, I was given an interesting demonstration of singing bowls that are not only musical instruments, but are also used for meditation and healing. The shop owner showed me how they work and the bowls do make very soothing sounds. Although many of the singing bowls are known as Tibetan singing bowls because it was originally thought that they came from Tibet, many are actually made in Kathmandu. I enjoyed the demonstration so much, of course I ended up buying a singing bowl!

The owner of the shop is Nhuchhe Ratna Shahi. His shop is called Swoyambhu Handicraft and it’s located in the Swoyambhu (Swayambhunath) Stupa (Monkey Temple) complex in Kathmandu.
