The former National Democratic Congress-NDC leader, Chishimba Kambwilli has commenced his defense in a matter he is jointly charged together with his son Mwamba and two others.

This was after the Lusaka Principal resident magistrate, Mwaka Mikalile refused to adjourn the matter on grounds that a warning was given to Mr. Kambwilli in the last session that he will commence his defense with or without his lawyers.

In this case his son Mwamba, and Mwamona Engineering and Technical Services Limited are facing charges of possessing money more than K5 million which is suspected to be proceeds of crime, obtaining pecuniary advantage and uttering a false document to a public officer.

The matter has since been adjourned to 7th June 2021 for continuation of defense.
