I broke my lowest E string and had to replace with string from Vintage Vibes
(which sound great btw). Luckily the area of the comb on which the string attaches is easy to get to (which is not the case for some of the higher strings). I always get another person to help so that tension can be held while string is wound so that it does not slip off of comb tooth.
