SEO takes a lot of time and effort and for this reason many try to cheat the system by doing it the quick or easy way. This can lead to fatal mistakes because unfortunately there is no quick or easy method to do SEO.

Here is a short list on what NOT to do when doing SEO.

1. Do not use programs or paid services that spam your link everywhere, by doing so will get your website kicked out of the Google search results and fixing the damage takes a long time and is definitely not easy.

2. If you are going to hire someone to do SEO for you, make sure that they know what they're doing. You need to ensure that you filter out the spammers and the liars.
Spammers will only damage your SEO and liars will only waste your time and money, especially those who promise that you will rank for every keyword that you provided.
No one can guarantee that you will rank number one in Google and if that's what they're promising then they are lying.

3. Do not spam forums and blogs, this will only damage your reputation and decrease the amount of potential traffic. Being helpful can go a long way online!
Do not continuously use the same anchor text, if you do Google may treat you as spam and decrease your ranking.

4. Remember… quality over quantity!
