Video shows activity at a housing development site and the first stage of ground preparation is to strip off all the top soil and basically move it around.

A fleet of Bell B30E articulated dump trucks (and a couple of John Deere ones) were busy moving the clean fill from one site of the field over to the other where bulldozers were pushing it into huge piles.

This soil will be used towards the end of the construction phase to backfill around the foundations and to create a suitable base for nice green lawns to be laid prior to homeowners moving in.

At any construction site you are also likely to see bulldozers and excavators (power shovels) being used to help with the process of digging and loading the soil into the trucks for short haul relocation.
