As a boy, I read a book of aviation stories – Flying, the Great Adventure. It contained stories about Lindbergh, the Wright brothers and many other aviation pioneers. The fact that I still vividly remember this book half a century later shows how deeply these stories affected me.
‘Flying, the Great Adventure’ is an euphoric song about the magic of flying that has stayed with me ever since.

Als Junge las ich ein Buch mit Fliegergeschichten – Fliegen, das große Abenteuer. Darin fanden sich Erzählungen über Lindbergh, die Gebrüder Wright und viele andere Pioniere der Luftfahrt. Dass ich mich noch ein halbes Jahrhundert später lebhaft an dieses Buch erinnere, zeigt, wie tief mich diese Geschichten geprägt haben.
‘Flying, the Great Adventure’ ist ein euphorischer Song über den Zauber des Fliegens, der mich seit damals nicht mehr loslässt.
