The 2nd Toronto Karate Kids League Tournament went amazingly well May 24 2015 at North York, ON https://www.torontokaratekidsleague.ca/
We had a very friendly and cheerful crowd. Participants demonstrated polished forms technique in Kata with different Karate styles and sharp sparring skills in Kumite.
Six new clubs joined us for this competition.
Our special guests for this tournament were:
Honourable referee – sensei Brad Jones – a 6th dan black belt JKA. He was a 3 gold and 2 silver medals winner at the National Black Belt Championships and former National Karate team coach. He also authored his wonderful book, "Detour on the Path"
Instructor Saci and Cigana with Capoeira Camara Toronto, performed a mesmerizing form of this martial art, that combines self-defence with music and acrobatics.
We have received very positive feedback from our coaches regarding the venue, organization, atmosphere and judging.
The 3rd tournament is scheduled for October 2015. We are planning to bring one more ring and implement a double elimination type of competition for both Kata and Kumite.
